My Students

We are located in East New York, Brooklyn, NY. My

Pre-Kindergarten students come from a variety of backgrounds, including Bangladesh, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and of course, the United States to name a few!

Many students recently immigrated with their parents and English is their second language. They enjoy learning through play as we explore ten themes throughout the year. For many this is a first school experience which is both exciting and scary at the same time.

My Project

In these crazy times, this will be my class’s first school experience. We have been told that books may not be shared due to health restrictions. Many of our children have no books at their disposal! These resources will give most of our students theIr first personal book, as well as a fun introduction to science in their “Big World”. With students learning at home and at school, these resources will give our students the same opportunity as their peers. The gift of reading will give them a jumpstart into their future.
