Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diversity. They are as unique and proud as the community that surrounds them. However, with this diversity comes varying needs, interests and opportunities.

My students are extremely talented and artistic.

There are so many details that my students must know by heart and flashcards are a proved way of memorizing the key details.

They enjoy learning through various methods. While they are stuck with me in a classroom for 45 minutes we like to break up the class by moving from station to station. Students are responsible for their own learning. They learn new vocabulary words and terms at these stations through textbooks, videos, music and many more. With your gift, we will be able to set up a station in the classroom that allows students to study for 10-15 minutes every day. Cramming does not work, reinforcement every day is one key to student success.

My Project

As a teacher I wear many hats. My students are always telling me how hungry they are in class, or they are cold and didn't wear a jacket to school. Sometimes, they need deodorants, pads, and band-aids.

I see students struggle through their day, but a little brain break plus movement to get the blood moving followed by a little sustenance helps them refocus and finish the day on a high note.

Additionally, I know a number of my students experience hunger over their weekends away from school so these snacks will also be used to help bridge that nutritional gap. Please help my students to be healthy and warm in order to concentrate in school.
