This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a middle school counselor facilitating my school's GEMS club. GEMS stands for Girl's empowerment and mentoring services. Every week we have the opportunity for female students to come together, share their stories, laugh, bond, and most importantly empower others and one another. My girls are requesting nail kits, facial sheet masks, and conversation starter games to help us stay busy throughout the year.

My overall purpose is to have my girls feel like they are part of a safe and welcoming sisterhood.

A time when we can all get together, and feel safe and heard.
