Gifts For My Gifted Students: Highly Capable Isn't Highly Funded

Help me give my students resources and supplies to build a learning environment for my gifted and talented students, in my cluster-model highly capable classroom. The mental games, puzzles, Genius Hour resources, and books would really help them!

My Project

I teach in a school that serves our highly capable students (gifted and talented) through a Cluster Model program. In this model, I have a general education classroom, with a group of about 8 highly capable students. While these students might be "at grade level" academically, they also have a higher likelihood of struggling with friendships, needing SEL, and many are twice exceptional (meaning they have other diagnoses that need to be supported too).

These tools will help me support these students because I believe ALL students should be challenged with creative ways to show their learning in the classroom, and that can be tricky with 28 students.

For this reason, I know the best thing that I can do is to build my knowledge, toolkit, and resources! This is my first year as an official highly capable teacher, so I would SO appreciate being able to build these supports this year to be able to benefit my kids this year and in the future!!
