This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The opportunity to have a library of decodable books for my ELL students will be a tremendous resource in my classroom. Decodable books support students as they decode words, break it down and figure out how to pronounce it out loud. This is a very important step in the reading process. The use of decodable books in my classroom will allow my students to practice sounding out simple CVC words as they master the alphabetic code. This resources will help me to give the gift of reading by instilling a lifelong love for reading in my students.
