My Students

The world of music is changing more rapidly than ever. What was once a field dominated by live sound is now becoming ever more digital based. As a music educator I feel that it is my responsibility to be able to offer the most up to date knowledge and tools, and this does exactly that.

My students are just beginning their educational journey into the digital music world.

As consumers of music they are influenced by digital music everyday. But as creators and composers of digital music - the fun starts here. The students in my school are among the most active and engaged kids I've ever had the privilege to work with. They are constantly pushing the envelope to learn more, work harder and do big things. During this coming school year we will be developing a new curriculum in Audio Engineering/Music Production. The program will not only teach the fundamentals of music and sound, but it will give them hands on experience with professional equipment used in live and recorded music.

My Project

These keyboards and audio interfaces are the first pieces in creating work stations for my students to record, compose and edit music. With these materials we will be able to set up our first five work stations for students to use. At these work stations my students will record live sound through the interfaces, write and compose digitally on the MIDI keyboards, practice piano competency, execute digital audio experiments and edit their own music for production.

You can't teach a class in music technology if you don't have any technology to work with.

Just as you couldn't adequately teach a guitar class without any guitars. With your support for this project you will be contributing to the beginning of an incredible program. These components will be used by students on a daily basis and are essential to their success.
