Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you love to write? Don't you hate it when you are so into your writing that your pencil breaks? What about keeping all your papers together? Don't you hate to have papers scattered all over the place? If all these thing have happened to you, you know what my students go through daily.

I teach 4th grade in a public school.

We are located in an urban school in the county of Los Angeles. Our school is located in a low socio-economic, bilingual community. Most of these students are English language learners, many of which also come from disadvantage homes.

My Project

Having these essential tools in our classroom, my students don't have to stop what they are doing, lose their concentration, and have to sharpen or staple loose papers. With a quality sharpener my students don't have to get their fingers dirty from the wall mounted sharpener. They don't have to worry about their pencils breaking or always becoming dull. Many of our students are disadvantaged, that they may not also have access to quality pencils. Some students do buy pencils, but purchase them from bargain stores that will easily break. With the use of a heavy duty stapler, the students will be able to keep their papers together and of course not lose any important papers. I usually make students their journals, but not having a quality electric stapler usually their notebooks fall apart.

By having these essential tools my students will continue to become successful in their education.

With a sharpener, pencils and stapler, the students and I don't have to worry about these tools to continue being successful.
