This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Coaching volleyball is a big passion of mine. After being in an urban school district, I realize not all students are exposed to many sports before being eligible to play their 7th grade year. Volleyball is a sport which requires lots of practice.

Students deserve an opportunity to learn volleyball prior to tryouts.

By creating this after-school volleyball club, students will be able to learn the basic fundamentals to determine if they want to play competitively or recreationally or if they want to play at all. Volleyball tryouts are typically 3 days, which is not enough time to learn and develop skills for volleyball.

This club will need volleyballs, a rebounder net, plyometric box, spike trainer, agility ladder, and other training equipment to operate. This allows parents to only be responsible for personal supplies.

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
