This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a "techie" and my goal is to make my students technology masterminds! Coming into a tech classroom in a low income school means most of the students do not have the technology at home, but are enthusiastic to learn about it in class.

I teach all subjects to a group of energetic and enthusiastic fourth grade students.

We are a Title I school, meaning most of our students are low income and their first language is a language other than English, usually Spanish. I teach an inclusion class which means my students have varied special needs. I also teach ESL students (English as a Second Language). Many students will learn English in my class. Also, many of my students come in below grade level, and it is my goal to bridge the gap.

My Project

These iPads will help facilitate learning for my students during small group instruction. Our reading series now has very direct lessons for the students where the resources are online. Students will use the iPad during small group instruction as we would our smart board for whole group instruction.

Students will use the iPads to enhance their learning and help them learn material they are struggling with.

Students now-a-days are very techy, and engaging them with paper and pencil can be difficult. The use of technology in my classroom is essential to engage my students as well as help them learn in the best way they can.
