Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds near the heart of Houston, Texas. They do not have many opportunities outside of the classroom to grow in their learning because their parents are often busy working and cannot help them.

My students are very eager to learn, and I want to be able to give them as much knowledge as I can while they are with me, as well as to teach them how to learn on their own for when they are at home.

The classroom is an opportunity for them to safely explore and grow as future members of our society.

My Project

I plan to use these materials to help our classroom to be better organized for the coming school year. Each student will have their own At-Your-Seat Storage Sacks to help them be able to manage their own pencils, crayon, and journals. They won’t need to worry about getting their most used supplies from other places to save on time and space. This will also help them to be responsible for their own supplies.

The Sound Phones will be great for workstations when they are reading to themselves.

They will be able to hear what they sound like clearly without the distraction from what else is going on around the room. The paint dabbers will be great during math! Students will use them to add their own counters to ten frames in a fun, colorful way to build number sense!
