About My Students

My students represent a group of young individuals with varied abilities and a variety of learning needs. They come together daily from all over our city. My students show a great deal of passion and are motivated by educational opportunities that are practical to their lives and relevant to their interests. This school year, we are working hard to develop our critical thinking and technological skills, and to begin to work toward building pragmatic solutions to challenges in our daily lives.

This project will help my students develop their coding skills by providing them with robots that they can physically code in small groups and use for a variety of classroom coding challenges. This project will have both instructional and motivational benefits for my students and they have been requesting the opportunity for months! Thank you for helping us get this off the ground.

In Their Own Words

We want to use robots to do experiments, have challenges, and have a great time. We will also learn how to code with different kinds of technology. We are asking for some Sphero Mini robots so that we can work together to code while competing with each other in class.

I will help take care of the robots by putting them away and making sure that they are respected by other students. When they are not being used, I will put them in their cases and make sure that they are where they belong. Finally, I will help my classmates learn to code.

My project is important because we will get to learn how to code and play fun games against each other in class. We will race our robots against each other and have fun while we learn. If we did not have these robots, then we would have to learn to code the old fashioned boring way.
