Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten in a Title I school where most students have free lunch, come from low income households, and their primary language is not English. This makes reading, writing, math, science and social studies difficult for them.

Despite all these obstacles, my students come to the classroom full of enthusiasm, questions, joy and very eager to learn.

Basic materials such as journals, pencils, crayons, and technology have the ability to enhance relationships between teachers and students. The students are more confident when learning with the right materials and technology and can focus on learning and what I can teach them.. In the right environment and with the right supervision and monitoring, kids can benefit greatly from interaction with technology and master all skills necessaries to go to their next step; first grade.

My Project

I am requesting these materials, games and technology for my students to learn and master the alphabet, read, count, and use the online program called iReady that contains different learning lesson for reading and math. During centers they will have the opportunity to use the games while I work with my small groups.

With the right materials and technology my students will have the opportunity of a fun and engaging time while learning.

They will use these materials to aide their learning through the process of going to the next step; first grade. I know my students will appreciate your donation to our project.
