Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are currently all connected in Google Classroom. We have been able to maintain communication throughout this situation. Unfortunately, as you may know, Pre-K students are missing out on hands on activities that we provide at school. In addition they are not getting the crucial social emotional component that helps them develop skills, such as problem solving, self-esteem and build their confidence.

My Project

My students were used to learning through hands on materials and meaningful learning experiences. At home, I am able to continue making connections with them through videos, read alouds, and live meetings. Unfortunately, not all students have access to manipulatives that will enhance their learning at home. These Kindergarten kits will give them the opportunity to engage in hands on materials, to prepare them even further for their Kindergarten adventure in the fall. My students will also be able to use these materials over the summer so that they continue to practice these important literacy and math skills at home.
