Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After substituting all last year at the same elementary school, I'm continuing my career there but now as a fulltime third grade teacher! Last year provided a great opportunity to experience the rhythm of a school year, right down to the specifics of how fast classroom supplies and materials are consumed!

With that in mind as I inventory and prepare my classroom, my request is to obtain some of the basic tools my students will use every day, that at times were unavailable on days I was substituting.

In addition, I'm requesting some useful items veteran teachers recommended, as well as a chapter book for a shared class read, and specific bulletin board borders to complete a theme.

I'm anticipating the first day with much excitement because I know all my students but they don't know yet that I'm their teacher for the whole year! What will guarantee a great start is having enough of our basic supplies to focus on the work ahead!
