My Project

What makes my students unique and special is their attitude coming out to PE week after week. Some students literally run outside and cannot wait for their day to arrive, and this definitely shows me how much being active outdoors is important to them. COVID-19 has impacted in too many terrible ways, but the Donors Choose is helping to bring back the happiness in so many students.

The Donors Choose resources will continue to help me provide lessons where all students can learn in a fun and engaging way.

For example, the blue sports speed agility training set with a ladder and hurdles will help me to continue to work on their running speed and also have a fun way to keep them moving. The basketballs we currently have are in need of a replacement, as they don't bounce as high as they should even with air in them. The new basketballs will make dribbling fun and not discourage them. In addition, being outdoors for PE the number polyspots have faded dramatically, so replacing them will help me to continue to keep them spaced apart when they are drinking water. The waterproof bluetooth speaker will not get damaged outdoors, and will also help students to be able to hear the music and/or fitness gram testing, because the stereo I currently use can be soft at times.

I truly believe that being active helps students focus in the classroom, and am so blessed to be able to provide this for around 500 students each week. More importantly, students are outdoors for PE so they are exercising in a safe environment.
