Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The 15 months of virtual learning have really impacted all our students' education. Students lost the ability to socially interact with others and physically complete hands-on activities in school. However, through all their experiences, my students continue to stay positive and show constant enthusiasm. They come to school everyday with a thirst for knowledge.

My students come from beautiful, loving, and resilient communities across South Central LA.

Although they have been through many hardships these past few months, my students continue to push themselves and thrive in the classroom. They are not only amazing students but also eloquent advocates and scientists. These supplies will really help my students continue to shine in and out of the classroom.

My Project

This first semester of the school year has been a learning opportunity for all of us. My students had a really hard time transitioning from virtual to in-person school. I saw that they needed more support with getting prepared for school and organizing their classwork. Our students are amazing and are always engaging with the materials at school. However, students come from low-income communities and lack essential school supplies such as pencils and pens. Having these classroom supplies will set our students up for success.

Your donation will not only help our students stay prepared and organized (improving their soft skills), but it will also help them achieve academic success at school.

My students love games, decorating, and making anchor charts about our content. These supplies will allow my students to stay engaged in the new concepts and use art (posters!) to remember the important information. The TPT gift cards will also help me find more engaging activities that have worked with other teachers. This year, I saw that students need a variety of activities to help them stay on task. The gift cards will make it easier for me to plan fun games and student-centered learning activities.

On Fridays, we play review games and the game buzzers will intensify our fun team activities. Overall, these classroom supplies will make a big difference in my classroom and the school learning environment, helping our students achieve academic and organizational success!
