Getting Play Back! Play-Based Learning Materials for Kindergarteners

My Project

Play is fun for children but also proven to be how children learn best. There is new legislation in my state to provide play-based learning opportunities.

Play promotes curiosity, exploration, and creativity.

It provides children with the opportunity to practice social skills with their peers. My goal with this project is to give my students the materials needed for developmentally appropriate learning experiences for 4, 5 & 6 year olds.

Kindergarten is a special place to be. For many this is their first school experience and where children develop their most foundational skills! There are so many stages of development just in how children play! It is my job to provide the materials and opportunities for students to be able to progress through them. Please help me provide engaging and open-ended materials to spark their curiosity, including a light table, play people, blocks, and kinetic sand.
