Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are kindergarten and 1st grade students who are in the classroom two days a week and three days a week working one on one with their families. They are amazing children whose actions always come from their hearts. We spend our days in the classroom with lots of hands-on activities that get us up and moving. My school focuses on learning through classical education. Students are encouraged to play a major role in their personalized learning plan through goal setting and project based learning. The children have voice and choice in their daily learning.

My Project

My students love using hands-on materials in the classroom. We have a whole group lesson and then they break off to use the hands-on materials to show mastery.

They can use the magnetic letters on the white board to make words and practice sentences structure.

The alphabots allow them to sequence the letters in the alphabet to create words. The number blocks allow them to add numbers, counting in sequence and one to one. The magnetic letter builders allow them to form letters and the letter sliders will allow the students to identify the beginning, middle and end of the word.
