Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We started the school year with homemade tabs, folders, and labels. Despite our efforts, everything is ripping and falling apart! Please help our students by giving them the professional materials they need in order to be organized. Our homemade supplies just aren't cutting it anymore.

Our wonderful students are hard working, diligent, and enthusiastic.

Our neighborhood public school serves a very high-needs population with nearly all of our students qualifying for free and reduced-price lunches. A quarter of our students are English Language Learners or former English Language Learners, and one fifth of our population is students with disabilities. We are a new middle school, only in our second year. We have a lot of room to grow, and are in desperate need of the resources to make us successful in our growth.

My Project

Our students need sharpies, hole punchers, and dividers to get organized. With these resources, our students will begin to learn the basics of organization. Many parts of our students lives are chaotic. Through teaching them how to get organized in the classroom, we're equipping them with skills that will allow them to be successful in high school and beyond. Some of the supplies will allow us as teachers to set-up basic organizational procedures. If a student is absent, or out of class with a special services provider, they'll know exactly where to look in the classroom for what they've missed. With hole punchers in their classrooms, they'll be able to keep all of their various papers organized and binder/folder-ready. They'll be able to track their long-term growth in reading and writing, as they'll be storing assessments over the course of their entire middle school career. Lastly, ink for our classroom printer will allow students to print their writing or articles that they'd like to read, as few of them have access to computers at home.

Please help our students get organized!

We're teaching them the importance of a professional work and school environment. It's important that the supplies we're giving them look professional too. Thank you for your consideration!
