My Students

Starting kindergarten can be a scary time for a kid, especially if you speak a different language. Students worry who their teacher is, what friends they will make, how they will succeed in class subjects. As a kindergarten teacher with a classroom full with English Language Learners, my job is to make the students feel safe and cared for, so that they are able to learn without fear.

It is amazing to watch the students progress in speaking, listening, reading and writing English throughout the school year.

Most importantly, my kindergarten students speak the language of kindness and friendship, and that is a beautiful thing to watch and guide throughout the school year.

My Project

Everything in kindergarten takes longer to do. Walking in a line, finding pencils and crayons, taking out math books, finding our reading books, writing one's name, etc. In kindergarten, a lot of time can be wasted getting materials from cubbies and shelves.

Having seat sacks for our classroom chairs teaches children how to organize their tools for learning.

Seat sacks allow students to quickly get their materials so they can get to learning. Seat sacks helps keeps materials from getting lost. It solves the problem of "Where are my crayons?" and "I can't find my folder!" Colorful seat sacks also make our classroom look really nice! Students learns better when they take pride in their classroom environment.
