My Students

Teaching third grade is a fun and exciting process! Third grade is where students begin advancing in comprehension and rigorous math and reading concepts. My class is full of eager, young minds who are ready to succeed in all aspects of life.

This third grade class is comprised of 23 amazing students, many of these students are economically disadvantaged and coming to my classroom is a safe place for them to explore.

Our school serves students in grades PK-6 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in high school and college, and be ready for what life brings them after schooling.

My Project

It is never too early to learn how to be financially responsible! My students are going to create their own financial system in our classroom. This will include currency, ledgers, and other bookkeeping forms to make them aware of how money is earned and spent.

They will be able to print classroom currency, balance sheets, and other financial forms.

Students will be able to earn money by doing different tasks (attendance, grades, kindness, and other positives). They will also have to pay for other actions (privileges, etc). The student will be responsible for documenting on their forms all transactions on the proper forms to receive. All of this will help my students understand that money needs to be earned and they will also be able to see how it is spent.
