My Students

Each morning we began the day greeting each other through the singing of songs. Singing provides the students with the opportunity to move and helps promote a positive rapport amongst students and educators.

My kindergarten students are an energetic group of students who are engaged in their learning.

They are an inquisitive bunch of children who are actively engaged in their learning through discussions, partner work, and exploration. Our school is a Maryland Title 1 school. The school has limited funds for classroom supplies so teachers work hard to provide those materials through donations and frequently through personal funds.

My Project

The seat organizers will help students stay organized and reduce the amount of time spent on distribution of materials. For example, the students engage in a writing activity everyday. In order to complete that activity their folder and paper need to be handed out. If students had all their materials in their seat organizer, they could immediately go back to their seats and begin working instead of waiting to be given the materials. The turn in your work organizer helps with keeping papers organized in each subject areas. It also helps develop student responsibility by making them accountable for turning in their work and keeping their work area clean.

These materials will help make the day to day routine of the classroom run smoother by reducing transition time.

It will also keep materials organized and help my kindergarten students develop those much needed organizational skills that will benefit them throughout their educational career.
