Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students want to make progress in their learning! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My students are ready to make progress! This growth needs to occur. As an educator, I need tools to help make this happen in my classroom. My students come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and academically.

School exposes my students to experiences and knowledge that their home life cannot always provide.

To do so in our classroom, I require the necessary support such as reading materials at different levels to accommodate ELL students, students with disabilities, and high-ability students. Items like translating devices, reading tools, and a document camera, will allow me to work with students in a small group setting. An Apple TV device will allow me to share technology and learning materials. It will also allow students to better interact with our smart board. Flocabulary and TPT Resources will expose students to new vocabulary and usage of language and concepts across the curriculum. Access to a photo printer will allow me to connect images and real-life activities to vocabulary and math concepts. Chart paper will allow me to create reference sources for my students to refer to during instruction. Whiteboards will allow my students to interact with me during our lessons.

We are a Title I school with a very high level of poverty in our community. Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the methods and environments in which they learn best, vary greatly. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met.
