Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting are for our students to build a love for reading. This year our goal is to grow in our reading and find genres we are interested in. Not only are these kids learning to read, but they are also learning to be creative and use their imagination through me doing read-aloud.

I have requested engaging read-aloud books to expand their awareness of different authors and award-winning books.

I have requested the following books: Phonics books, Pete the Cat, all the holiday books, and more books that relate to the first month of school and different situations in first grade. As an individual who enjoys reading, I believe it is important to model how to read with fluency and show students the correct way to read, I want my students to make text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections, to help make them better readers and writers.
