Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All students want to be able to learn in a comfortable and welcoming environment. My students deserve to learn and grow in seating that fosters this space. With your support, I would like to provide my young scholars with flexible seating such as bean bags, wobble stools, lap desks, and floor cushions. Flexible seating allows my students the choice and ownership of how they would like to learn. Students may need to move around and need a change of space and this type of seating would provide that.

What makes my students special is they come to school ready and eager to learn.

My students are amazing and academic achievers. Students come from a high-poverty area and we are a Title I school. They are faced with several challenges day-to-day. Despite the many challenges my students face, they have the desire to learn and grow each day.

The wobbly chairs would specifically target this need at a typical desk station. Children love movement and this would allow them the choice in how they stay on task.
