My Students

This year I am beginning my journey as a special education teacher. I will be providing instruction to students in an ICT setting. ICT settings allow for students who have varying special needs to receive an education in a general education classroom with two teachers. Our students are very diverse in their needs and academic/social abilities. This diversity is what makes the classroom one that is beautiful and each child brings with them a special gift that only enhances our classroom community.

My Project

Thank you for considering our project as one that you wish to donate to. Our students are diverse learners with varying needs. However, one thing that all students share is that they benefit from an organized classroom. These materials will help organize our classroom allowing for students to navigate the classroom and find books and materials with ease. The bins and table caddies with correlating colors will help students find their materials based on their respective table/group colors. The bean bag chair will be utilized by students that need a private space in the classroom to regain their focus, practice learned calming strategies and independently return to their work alongside their peers. Providing an atmosphere that promotes independence fosters a student’s self confidence.
