This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an ENL teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district. I have a group of wonderful students who are English language learners, special education students, and general education students who come from various ethnic backgrounds. Despite the many challenges my students face, my students come to school eager to learn and strive to do better.

My scholars are English Language Learners/ MLLs from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

They are from Iow-income families. I love that they speak different languages and are excited about learning English. Although they do not have access to many resources at home, they do their best to acquire the English language in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Their different cultures, customs, languages, and personal experiences make them special.

My Project

Back to in person learning means getting back to the basics. The classroom supplies listed here will be used by the students while we explore ENL material together. I have many students who need visual learning supplies in order to grasp the language.

It is important to me to have all the essentials to be a successful student accessible, to all my students, while in my classroom.

These classroom basics will help our classroom function properly and let us focus on the important part: academics. It is so hard to make student successful when we lack basic supplies.
