This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

April 2 is World Autism Awareness and Acceptance Day. I work at a school where approximately 25% of our students have been diagnosed with Autism. In order to create awareness and acceptance, I would like for ALL of our students to design a flower pot that contains the official flower used to represent Autism, the Forget-me Not. Students will use stickers to design a flower pot. They will plant their seeds using a soil pellet. As the flower grows, it will serve as a beautiful reminder of our students with Autism. Students can display their beautiful creation year round.

As they provide love and care to their flower, hopefully this will be symbolic of the care and attention we should give to our students with Autism.
