Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Be yourself, everyone else is taken." Oscar Wilde. My classroom is set up with choices for each student to make a conscious decision to part take in their own education. This is expressed in various ways, from sharing video blogs describing recent books or morning current event news broadcasts,

This year, I have the privilege of working with three very unique classes, one being a special needs inclusion class.

Our students are eager and resilient. They are dedicated to self growth and drive each other to be successful in everyday task from homework, to class participation and more. They encourage one another to stand by their own work and voice their individuality. Our school strives for excellence and each one of us share the excitement as they grow from school dependent learners to independent learners. Their ability to make the decision of what they want to read will ultimately lead them to be successful readers and leaders of the future.

My Project

These books will allow my students to have a varied selection of challenging books to chose from while working on independent reading skills and independent reading projects. In gaining these materials students will be able to make their own decisions on what they would like to read, leading them to become life long readers.

This project will make a huge difference in my three classes by providing my students with reading options that are challenging and inspiring to them.

It will provide them the resources they need to further develop their reading skills and make them better life long readers.
