My Students

My students attend an International Baccalaureate® (IB) World school in a large urban school district. Our class is an enthusiastic group of second graders who are eager to learn about the world around them.

Our school's mission is to develop internationally-minded learners that inquire, collaborate, and take action.

My students are developing their reading, writing, and math skills and working to become global citizens. One of our biggest goals is to work as a cooperative community in our classroom setting.

My Project

I am requesting funds to attend the 2019 Get Your Teach On National Conference in Dallas, Texas. I am a lifelong learner with a passion for teaching. I love to learn new tips and strategies to help me become a more effective educator.

My goal from this conference is to obtain more tools to create a classroom environment that is driven by rigorous standards, academic achievement, growth, relationships, joy, enthusiasm, and FUN!

During this conference, I will be attending numerous sessions that will help me engage my students in their own learning. I will learn how to incorporate more games in math, integrate the arts into my lessons, energize my reading and language arts lessons, among many other topics. All of these sessions lead to the ultimate goal of having engaged students who work as a community. I want to be able to set the stage to engage for the hundreds of students I will teach in the future.
