My Students

Remember the days when a band-aid, an ice pack, and a kiss could heal all boo-boos? Well, two out of three isn't too bad. Kinders need some "loving" for their boo-boos at school, and teachers need the tools accessible!

Dixie students come from loving, attentive homes and are used to a high standard of care.

Despite our wonderful community, Dixie is being affected by the California budget cuts, and we are short staffed at the most crucial times for safety on the playground.

My Project

We want our students to receive loving care here at school too. Since yard helpers and office staff are often acting as school nurses, we want to provide our students and staff with a quick and easy way to access the basic items to treat minor injury and help a Kindergartener feel better. A refrigerator will help us store ice packs and extra juices for access by Kinder yard helpers who will not have to leave the yard for an extended time to assist an injured child.

This mini-fridge will help keep students safe and secure by keeping yard supervision on the yard instead of in the nurse's office.

Students will feel comforted by the ice packs (which might actually be used to treat a real injury!).
