My Students

Our school is part of District 75 a network of 69 schools with students with disabilities who require increased attention. We offer support programs for children on the spectrum, educational, vocational, behavioral, and children with sensory impairment. Our school demographics Pacific Islander, Asian, Black, Hispanic, Native American, White, Arabic and Jewish the same for staff. A supportive environment where students feel safe, challenged to grow, and support to help meet their expectations. My students mean the world to me, they inspire me to be a better teacher. I love seeing their warm smiles each day upon my arrival. They're always willing to try and complete the task at hand.

My Project

All of our k-2 students want to enjoy their early years with fond memories. Our school can only have one class at a time right now because of COVID restrictions. Rhythm and music will provide the opportunity for the kids to play in the classroom comfortably. This helps them with the basic idea of steady beat in the songs, and it also helps to build the self-esteem that they need. Great for the kids because they can practice on their own, get comfortable and distant play with their classmates. As they progress, will be able to do team and independent work in the future, building coordination and socialization. We will be able to take these with us when we travel to the gymnasium. The 10 sets of jump hoppers will play many roles in the program for the students. First and foremost, it will give all students a chance to have fun during in class without sensory overload. We can instruct 3-6 year old during a school team ride with adults. This will enhance the environment not only in the classroom, but in the auditorium as well. The dance mat is for indoor party dancing for girls and boys one of the best ways to improve coordination and proprioception involving the entire body.
