Get the Point with a Laser Pointer and Wireless Keyboard

My students need a laser pointer to help them follow along with presentations on my LCD projector, and a wireless keyboard so I can navigate the presentation from the back, keeping an eye on my students' laptop screens.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Currently using a broken antenna! Yes, that is correct. To guide my students through presentations I use a broken antenna as a pointer. I currently teach in a sixth grade classroom where all of my students have their own personal laptops and Internet service at home through a grant our district received. I am so lucky to have these resources and incorporate technology into almost everything we do! Sixth graders are at an age where so much change is happening. My goal is to keep them passionate about learning! Please help me do this!!!

"Billy (names have been changed), can you please read this sentence", the teacher asked. "Billy, do you know where we are?" As a sixth grade teacher this is a frequent occurrence in my classroom. I would love to have a laser pointer that will help my students know where we are during presentations on the overhead. My students also periodically give presentations of their own. I know they would be psyched to be able to guide the class with a laser pointer. Because my students have laptops there have been times where students are on a different website or are not on task. I need to station myself in the back of the classroom so I can monitor what they are doing on their laptops and at the same time continue teaching.

I need a laser pointer and wireless keyboard to allow me to continue teaching from anywhere in the classroom. With sixth graders I can't sit in the front of the classroom and expect all of my kids to be on task. They need me walking around the room. These tools will allow me to do this and produce higher quality instruction.

As previously mentioned, sixth graders are at that critical age where learning is last on their list. I am devoted to engaging my students and making them want to learn. With these tools my students will be more interested in my teaching and will allow me to manage my classroom from anywhere in the room.
