Help Mrs. Dixon

I am currently a 6th grade English Language Arts teacher. Our school was heavily impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Because many hurricane evacuees have made a home in our rural community or are currently living in nearby FEMA housing, our school has ballooned to nearly 400 hundred students in the sixth grade alone. Because we have five sections of the sixth grade, it is often difficult to make sure that we have the references we need in order to better prepare our students. For the GET REAL with Realistic Fiction! activity, students will have their own class set of the classic realistic fiction book, Bridge to Terebithia, a read-aloud c.d, as well as a teacher's guide. This class set of books will ensure that every student will get a true understanding about what realistic fiction actually is. My hope is that by having this book as an example, my students will soon be able to write their own original realistic fiction stories. Thank you for your consideration.
