My Project

Our sweet students come from a variety of backgrounds before coming to kindergarten. Over the years, we've noticed that their fine motor readiness is lacking - and we want to provide families with the tools to help their kids practice.

We all know that it's way easier to practice skills when it's fun and engaging.

These kits will do just the trick! Our goal is to provide each incoming kindergartener with a drawstring backpack full of fun supplies that will engage them in fine motor play. Building blocks, playdough, pipe cleaners, beads, linking rings - all will provide fun ways for student to practice and strengthen their fine motor muscles. Colored cardstock, pencils, colored pencils, whiteboard markers and sheet protectors will allow us to create some academic practice too - flashcards and writing practice to sneak into the fun.

By providing families with exact materials and ways to use them, we know that this will help our incoming kinders be ready for the fun and rigors of our classrooms!
