Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We service middle schoolers in the South Bronx. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, residing in one of the most underserved districts in our city. They are bright, charismatic, kind, and energetic children who have the drive and passion to succeed. However, they are often faced with various obstacles like homelessness, malnutrition, mental illness, loss, abuse, and many other situations our children should not go through.

Every day they make it to school and our goal is to make it a wonderful experience.

Our children are 11-15 years-old and many have the wisdom of individuals much older. Our children are gifted, they are talented, and need the resources to excel and enhance their skills. Our children have so many extraordinary ideas and my job is to ensure they come to life!

My Project

My project includes various items as we work with students who are in need of critical life essentials: hygiene products to help them in and out of school, snacks to keep them nourished throughout the day, and activities to combat the amount of stress they feel and will inevitably feel as their year progresses. We are in unprecedented times and we want to come into this upcoming school year with as many resources as we can. We will be having mass budget cuts throughout the community and this is a huge concern for us and our students.

Please help us protect and prevent any issues our students may face.

This is a small project to get us started but we will surely be having more up and running soon as we see what we are working with.
