This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"A book is a dream that you hold in your hand." –Neil Gaiman
Our students are always on the lookout for new and exciting books!
My school is a Title One school. Our population is extremely diverse. We have a huge population of students from other countries which creates a rich learning environment. Our students love to read! They are always visiting our library to fulfill their hunger for books.
My Project
My readers need new and exciting books to read during independent reading. They are always looking for something new to read. These books will be engaging and entertaining for my readers. They can be used as read alouds for the whole class, or for students to read on their own.
The anxiety of state testing is looming in the building.
By bringing in the latest and greatest books I hope to rebuild student's enthusiasm for learning. The professional books I'm requesting will help inspire teachers in my building to try new strategies to improve student's reading comprehension.
