This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I know my students have what it takes to achieve thier goals, but sometimes my students, like some of us, experience distractions that are beyond their control.
When a student experiences physical distractions, they will have the option to use a standing desk and continue learning, stay seated and move their legs or occupy another part of their brain by moving something in their hands.
I want mt students to know they really do have the control. They don't have to feel they are different from their peers in this regard.
In our society, medication is often the first solution offered to help children focus in class and sometimes that is needed, but we must use the expanse of available research to find solutions to help children develop a toolbox of self-empowering strategies that they can take into adulthood to help them have a wonderful quality of life.
