Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Staying fit and healthy is a challenge for elementary students these days. Many students don't have the opportunity to participate in organized sports because of cost and they do not have equipment at home to help them stay fit.

My first graders love to be active.

They enjoy soccer, kickball, running at recess and playing organized games at P.E. time. Their families are hard working but in most cases, cannot afford to enroll their children in soccer, football or other leagues outside of school. Our school does not have P.E. equipment because of our limited budget so students make do with the one or two red balls we have in our classroom.

My Project

New P.E. equipment like bouncing balls, jump ropes and soccer balls will allow my students to experience how much fun exercise can be. They will be able to develop basic skills like jumping rope and dribbling a ball. They will also learn how to be a part of a team and how important team work is.

Please help fund this project.

Most of my students are living in poverty and do not have the opportunities that many of us take for granted. New P.E. equipment will bring smiles to their faces and will really help them develop positive attitudes about exercise and fitness.
