Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the privilege of looping with my third graders from last year to fourth grade this year. They are absolutely in love with reading informational text and creating their own research projects. One of their requests for the upcoming year was additional flexible seating and new reading material. Since they advocated for themselves, I found texts that are within their grade level range and their interests.

Your generous donation will help purchase floor pillows so my students can read and learn comfortably from new, engaging informational books!

My students love to fill their book bin and then read across the room. The books will provide me with new content for them to read that spans across their reading levels. The floor pillows will give my students the flexibility to sit somewhere besides a desk all day and encourage reading for enjoyment. The informational books span a variety of social studies topics to help answer their questions and also introduce them to concepts they might not know about yet.
