My Students

I love the question "what makes your students special" knowing that EVERYTHING is not the best answer but it is most certainly true. My students are eager to learn and want to do their best daily. Their confidence is contagious and they make teaching the best job around.

I teach at a Title I school with diverse students from all walks of life.

Many of the students receive free/reduced lunch and also receive "backpack buddies" which provides them with food and snacks for the weekend. Despite the challenges they may face, my students come to school ready to do their very best.

My Project

The bar stools, round table, and coffee table in this project will be used to accommodate the students by offering additional seating options in the classroom. At this time we have some flexible seating options and by adding two tables and stools we will have more options in our classroom. My students have responded well to the flexible seating options and I would like to offer more options so that all students have a flexible seating choice. The students have benefited from the flexible seating options and are excited about adding new seating arrangements! The stools will be arranged at our standing table that gives the students an option to stand. By adding the stools they will have the option to sit as well. The round table will be added to a set of chairs we have that offer our students comfortable seating. The coffee table will be used as a low table, an addition to our floor seating.

With additional flexible seating options and diverse picture books, the learning in the classroom is unlimited!

My students look forward to reading the new books we are adding to our classroom library. This project also includes diverse picture books to help grow our library as well as offer diversity in the classroom through books.
