My Students

As a first year Geometry teacher with little additional resources, I want my students to have a solid understanding of geometry concepts by supplementing their learning with materials that will help them explore and master the content.

My students are a diverse group of individuals who attend a 6-8 middle school in California.

These students are my more advanced students who are constantly pushing themselves to excel in mathematics. They are excellent mathletes who are not only inquisitive but engaged in their learning.

My Project

The resources I am requesting are geometry workbooks that have great examples that tie into the curriculum. I am also requesting a book called Number Talks which is a great resource to help students build and strengthen their mental math capabilities. The last item I am requesting is an informative DVD that shows students how math can be found in everyday settings and pushes students to explore the world around them through the lens of math.

This project is important to me because I want to be the best geometry teacher these students can have.

I am hoping that these resources will help students not only see the importance of being conceptual learners in geometry but also help them develop a passion for learning math.
