This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love teaching geometry, and a big part is the hands-on discovery and learning. Being able to provide construction tools to my amazing group of students is key to this process. This includes compasses (that work and don't break!) and protractors.
We do fun projects and discover geometric properties with these tools regularly.
It also exposes students to future career possibilities that also use these tools. Our next project will be the construction of quadrilaterals discovering their properties of diagonals and side lengths, and applying this to the coordinate plane and their previous algebra skills.
Thank you for supporting my students! I look forward to incorporating these tools into our lessons. My students love getting to discover learning, rather than just being told what the rules are.
