My Students

My students are very determined students. They are eager to learn and comes to class prepared everyday. The student population is very diverse as we are located in NYC. We have students from all over the world.

We are a large public school with almost 4,000 students located in Queens, NY (NYC).

Our students are very motivated to do well but lack in funding. We are not a Title I school therefore we do not receive much funding from the city.

My Project

We are requesting magnetic graph charts to display graphs and giant geometric figures for students to visualize 3-D shapes. Geometric models will allow students to visualize 3-D shapes. Students usually have difficulties visualizing how a prism looks like. With a model, students will be able to see a prism from different perspectives and also to be able to "feel" the corners, edges and surfaces of the 3-D shapes.

Unfortunately Smartboards in our classrooms are usually not in working order.

It is very difficult to graph an equation of a line on the board without any graph charts. Magnetic Graph Charts are great tools to demonstrate how to graph an equation of a line when the Smartboard is not available.
