Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our students seek new and exciting resources to help feed their young minds. School today can have many challenges, including helping to increase parent involvement. With your help we can find some unique professional development opportunities that will inspire my students to become active 21st century learners.
My students come from a school where 100% of the population is from low-income and disadvantaged households.
The school, along with our entire school district, qualify as Title I. Our school is located directly off of a major highway, in California.
With the support of people from across the globe, we can help educate, communicate, and cooperate with the students in our classroom and school.
My Project
This project is for an incredible adventure that will help me to teach diversified art lessons from around the world to my students. I will explore important destinations, such as; Paris, Milan, and Rome.
Students will benefit directly from Art lesson plans that will now give both student and teacher historical context to some of the world’s most important pieces of art and their relationship to academic learning.
Museums from across Europe, including; the Academia Museums in Florence/Venice , the Leonardo de Vinci Museum, and Doge’s Museum will help my teaching skills in history and social studies topics. The culmination of this art expo will be getting to visit and see Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper and his dedicated Leonardo Da Vinci Museum. I plan to make several lesson plan design units from my time in Florence and Venice. Milan will allow us to attend several half-day workshops on European painting skills and techniques. There are also lessons on teaching young children these concepts within a classroom.
I plan to bring back from these workshops material and lessons that I can build an entire month-long unit on expression, art, and history behind some of our world famous artists. My professional instruction will be enhanced with the cultural and diverse experiences in this European Exploration of the Arts. Students will also be provided with opportunities to create and reenact artwork from these time periods for their own learning, reflection, and development.
This project includes fees including airfare, food, and lodging, during our search for world-class art, and museum/tour activities and interactive art exhibits with some world-class Professional Development and historical sites and events. Thank you for donating and helping myself to grow as an educator with richer experiences and context in teaching art and art experiences to those in primary classrooms.
