This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kids have been interacting with collectible card games like Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! for years. I have noticed that very few play the biggest of the collectible card games, Magic: The Gathering. For the last eight years I have been introducing complex board games, Dungeons & Dragons, and other "thinking" games to kids in after school clubs with great success, and I am now ready to tackle collectible card games.

I always struggled to find a way to start a Magic: The Gathering Club, but I have found a way.

The resources requested in this project will supplement what I have received from MagiKids, an organization that provides game supplies and instructional aids to school groups. The instructional aids are particularly useful in introducing this complex game.

My favorite part of what I am planning to do is that students that might not normally be able to afford it will be able to keep the cards that they fashion into their decks.
