Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a low-income neighborhood in Houston. They attend a Title I school. They work very hard to accomplish their yearly goals. As their teacher, I do my best by providing them with differentiated instruction, with materials to target their individual needs.

This year I will loop with my former Kindergarteners to First Grade and be departmentalized teaching Math and Science.

Although this year will be a new experience for me, I would like to provide them with all of the fun Math concepts to help many of them transition back from learning virtually from home and back to the classrooms.

My Project

These math materials that I would like to incorporate in my classroom are for my students to explore their math concepts whether in a whole group lesson or a small group.

Help me make math fun and engaging for my students.

I truly believe math is a subject area that allows students to challenge themselves and help them grow confident.

I plan on providing students with a math library with books that we will read together before a lesson and then placing them in bins to be accessible for them throughout the year.
