My Project

The classroom rug is the center of our room. It's a place designated for focus and learning. The carpet is a space where we can gather together for various lessons and read-alouds. Having students come to the carpet during a lesson brings the students in closer, allows me to monitor partnerships more easily, and creates a great space for discussion and community.

Students especially enjoy using the classroom rug to cozy up with a book during our independent reading time.

When given the opportunity, students often choose the rug over the constraints of a desk. A brand new classroom rug would be a great addition to our new school year and will be used for years to come.
