My Students

I teach at a Title I school in Bedford County, Shelbyville, Tennessee. My students come to me with a wide range of learning abilities. We need these Sony Walkman cassette players so that my students can listen and read along to our books. This is very beneficial to my lower readers as well as my ELL learners.

I love each of my students and all of their unique personalities.

I am so proud of these students and their desire to read. They want to do well and listening to different readers will help with expression when they are reading.

My Project

These cassette players will allow my students to enhance their reading through listening to content-rich literature that they might not otherwise be able to read. My students love listening to my books on tapes, and it is clearly impacting their vocabulary and independent reading ability. These cassette players will help them to enjoy independent reading as they follow along with the tapes.

They can listen to a variety of literature and do not have to worry if it is "on their level".

All of my students, especially my ELL learners have shown an astonishing interest in reading since I introduced them to the pleasure of an audio book. This project will help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
