This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students at Sumner Avenue Elementary School love reading and coming to the library! I am always on the lookout for popular and requested books so that the library has the books that students are interested in, available to them!

Believe it or not students keep asking for Garfield Comic Strip Books!

Students at our school love graphic novels, comic books and comic strip collections. I have added Superheroes and Calvin and Hobbes in the past and now students are asking for Garfield! I am hoping to add these books to our collection so that students will find what they are looking for and engage in reading for pleasure! Research shows that students who read for pleasure do better in all aspects of life and that is what we want for all our students!
